Veterans
Bedside Network
The
Veterans Bedside Network
has been serving hospitalized
veterans since 1948.
With its volunteers
drawn largely from show
business and broadcasting,
the VBN visits VA hospitals
across the land every
week of the year. They
produce dramas and musical
variety hours in which
the patients become
the actors and singers.
This technique, Participation
Therapy, remains the
VBN's central purpose.
In 1984, the National
USO stopped sending
touring shows into veterans
hospitals. At the urging
of the VA, the Network
began sending out live
entertainment. This
show is the latest example
of that work. We hope
you enjoy it.

The Narrows Community
Theater was created in
1971 to bring live shows
to the Bay Ridge community.
In 1984, NCT provided
some scenes from famous
Broadway musicals for
the Bay Ridge Festival
of the Arts. The success
of that presentation led
to the permanent formation
of the NCT Ensemble featured
here. The performers in
this presentation are:
