Narrows Community Theater Announces
“Audition Workshop with Jay
Michaels”
“Awesome!”
“Exceeded my expectations!”
“Entertaining and informative”
“Just loved it!”. These
were just a few of the reviews from
those who attended last summer’s
Musical Audition Workshop with Jay
Michaels hosted by Narrows Community
Theater. Well look out Bay Ridge,
you are in for an encore! Mark your
calendars for Thursday, August 2,
2007, when NCT will again be hosting
a workshop with Mr. Michaels. This
time it will not only cover how
to have a successful musical audition,
it will be a general workshop for
monologues as well as vocals. Theater
folks will again have an opportunity
to try out their skills and receive
tips on improving their performance
from the master himself.
For those of you
who do not know Jay Michaels, you
are in for a special treat. Not
only is he tremendously talented
and extends his knowledge of theater
to workshop attendees, he is just
plain entertaining and fun to be
around. Mr. Michaels has been a
member of the entertainment industry
since the late 70’s, as performer,
director, producer, marketing and
public relations, college professor;
the credits go on and on. In the
field of marketing and public relations
he was part of the staff of Broadway’s
Cats, Damn Yankees, Guys & Dolls,
Big, the first national tours of
Les Miserables and Edwin Drood.
He has been a guest artist and lecturer
at Fordham University, Yeshiva University,
and Lehman College to name a few.
Mr. Michaels was also part of a
collaborative effort to turn an
arts program at The Educational
Alliance into Genesis Repertory
and was recently named Director
of Public relations for the Bronx
Opera.
The Audition Workshop
with Jay Michaels will be held on
Thursday, August 2, 2007, from 8pm
to 10pm, at Shore Hill Senior Center,
9000 Shore Road, Brooklyn, NY. The
workshop is free for NCT members.
For non-members, the workshop fee
is $5.00. For more information or
